Browsing and contacting owners is free for renters. Listers start with a 6-month free trial and can have up to 10 active listings during that trial.
Do renters pay to browse?
No. Renters can browse listings and contact owners without paying Use Mine.
Do renters need an account?
No. Renters can browse listings without an account.
How does Use my location work?
Your browser asks permission first. If you allow it, Use Mine uses the coordinates only to find nearby suburbs and listings.
Can I search a different suburb?
Yes. You can always enter another suburb or postcode and change the radius.
How many items can I list?
Free Lister accounts can have up to 10 active listings during the 6-month trial. Pro Lister accounts can have up to 20 active listings.
Does every lister get 6 months free?
Yes. Each lister gets an individual 6-month free trial from the day they register.
When does my 6-month free trial start?
It starts when your account is created.
What happens after the free 6 months?
Use Mine reminds listers 30 days before the trial ends. At the 6-month mark, listers are prompted to subscribe for $9.95/month through Stripe to keep listings active. If billing is not active, listings are expired rather than deleted.
Is the $9.95/month per item or per account?
It is per lister account, not per item.
Can I upgrade before the 6-month trial ends?
Yes. Upgrade to Pro Lister any time if you need more than 10 active listings. Billing starts immediately and the account limit increases to 20 active listings.
Do listings go live automatically?
No. New listings go to admin approval before they appear publicly. Use Mine may reject or remove listings that look unsafe, misleading, commercial, low quality or unsuitable.
Does Use Mine take commission?
No. Use Mine does not take commission on rentals.
What is a Premium Listing?
A Premium Listing is an optional seller-side visibility upgrade that can be enabled later by admin.
How much is a Premium Listing?
The default setting is $4.95 for 14 days when the feature is enabled.
Does Premium Listing guarantee enquiries?
No. It improves visibility in relevant results but does not guarantee enquiries.
Are commercial hire companies allowed?
No. Use Mine is for private owners, including tradies or sole traders listing their own idle gear.
Can tradies list their own gear?
Yes, if they are listing their own idle items rather than advertising a commercial hire service.
Do I need real photos?
Yes. A listing needs at least one real uploaded photo before it can go public.
Does Use Mine handle payment?
No. Owners and renters arrange hire price, payment, bond, pickup and return directly. Use Mine does not hold money, bonds or rental payments.
Does Use Mine offer insurance?
No. Use Mine is a listing platform and does not provide insurance, guarantee listing accuracy, inspect items or manage returns.
How do I contact an owner?
Use the Message Owner or Call Owner buttons on a listing page.
Can I call instead of message?
Yes, if phone contact is enabled.
How does radius search work?
Use Mine compares listing suburb coordinates with your chosen suburb or browser-approved location.
Can I pause a listing?
Yes. Listers can pause their own listings from the dashboard.
Can I delete a listing?
Yes. Listers can delete their own listings from the dashboard.
